<\/picture><\/a>Humble Beginnings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In junior high, my mother encouraged me to enroll in band, and she asked me what instrument I wanted to play. Because I didn’t know the first thing about band, I said: “Trombone.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My mother came back some time later with a trumpet. “Is this what you wanted?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fortunately I didn’t really mind, only 3 buttons to push means it can’t be that hard, right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout all of junior and high school I was in band, and was in the high school jazz band for all 4 years. I discovered I had a passion for music.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout this time I branched out and learned I love percussion as well and I somehow managed to get bongo drums and an old 70s drumset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These were fun times, and I had a lot more time to practice than I do now. Throughout my youth I learned to love music and I decided then subconsciously that I wanted music to be a part of my life, forever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After High School, I found a guitar and have been tinkering ever since. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Along with several random other instruments that me and my wife have accumulated over the years, we are capable of making some noise! <\/p>\n\n\n\n When I was 14 years old, (almost 20 years ago! … eep!) I also learned about electronic sequencing and learned to use Modplug Tracker, now called OpenMPT<\/a>. Composing is the real deal.<\/strong> After a few years I moved to FL Studio<\/a>. Throughout this time till now I’ve made a couple dozen songs and some of them are available on Soundcloud.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I definitely am still a neophyte in many ways and I understand that it’s going to take hundreds of songs before I make something I’m truly proud of. In any case, it’s always been fun for me and I’ve learned quite a bit about how to maneuver the software (called a DAW, or Digital Audio Workstation) for making music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Even though I’ve played music for a long time, there have only been brief portions of my life where I sought to really improve on an instrument. I hope from this website that I’ll get a chance to focus on learning about music and getting to practice and experiment with our instruments and learn to make better music. <\/p>\n\n\n\nComposing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
